RTI software can control the operation of remote devices over networks and over the internet.  In the simplest applications, an operator at a computer can control one or more devices over a network or internet connection; or the computer can take control based on a predetermined time schedule. 

By combining remote data acquisition and remote control, a wide variety of remote operations can be accomplished automatically in response to remote events.  This might include automatic irrigation systems, remote access control of secured areas, and traffic control.
